The Chronicles of Z – Week 7

Hi all!  Another weekly update from your resident greatest puppy in the world!  Nothing exciting really is happening here.  I’m slowly learning the routine with everybody.  When we wake up.  When we eat.  When we get to play and train.  It’s hard work learning all of this stuff, but mom and dad keep telling me it’s important.  They especially stress the whole waking up thing.  They seem to get angry if I wake up early and start singing a song.  I wonder if it’s because I have a bad singing voice?

Not a lot happened this week because dad had to travel for work.  He was gone for so long I didn’t think he was coming back!  Finally he came back and I squealed so loudly out of excitement and “held” his arm in my mouth to make sure he couldn’t leave.  I think he was happy to see me too.  Hanging out with mom and my sisters was fun, though.

As for my training, I’ve started learning how to do some of these things in different places. It was confusing at first because I wasn’t sure what dad was expecting even though I know how to do it.  When we went out into the yard and he got a wing out I didn’t know I was supposed to run around it!  After we talked for a few seconds and he showed me what he wanted I figured it out.  It’s so much more fun outside because dad can run and I can chase him!  Yeehaw!  We also worked on pouncing on the carpet outside too.  I found that much harder because dad kept moving while I was trying to pounce and he was distracting me.  I had to tell him to stop moving and then it was easy again!  We are also working a lot on being by my dad’s side all of the time.  He told me that I’m going to stop getting treats being in front of him.  He said being at his side is a necessity to this agility thing he keeps talking about.  For some reason we always are standing next to a wall or a fence when we do this, but I don’t care because I get a lot of treats!

And finally here is our weekly family picture!  My dad says I’m just a hair over 17 inches now.  He told me I need to stop growing!  No way, I want to be big like my sisters.
